A Female Leader in the Cannabusiness, Dr. Jessy Vikani Owner of Mt. Laurel’s Nirvana Dispensary

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ – Nirvana cannabis dispensary in Mount Laurel is leading the way not only in creating a zen-like environment for cannabis business customers, but under founder Dr. Jessy Vikani it’s standing out as a female-owned company in the industry.

Nirvana is not just another cannabis dispensary; it aims to provide a high-end retail experience that moves away from the traditional stigma associated with dispensaries.  Even though the cannabis industry is still predominantly male-driven, Nirvana is one of the few female-owned dispensaries in New Jersey.

Dr. Vikani, a licensed pharmacist, gives her a unique perspective on the cannabis industry, particularly from a medical and regulatory standpoint. She has integrated her pharmaceutical knowledge to ensure that Nirvana offers high-quality products with an educational approach, helping customers find what suits their needs.

“As a woman-owned business, Nirvana Dispensary is proud to stand at the intersection of cannabis advocacy and female entrepreneurship. Women have historically been underrepresented in this industry, but we’re here to change that narrative.,” said Dr. Vikani.

According to a survey of industry professionals by trade news publication Marijuana Business Daily, about 22 percent of  cannabusinesses nationwide are woman-owned“ Our goal isn’t just to provide quality products—it’s to create a space where education, inclusivity, and community thrive. This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the trailblazers who paved the way and reaffirm our commitment to empowering the next generation of women leaders in cannabis,” added Dr. Vikani.

Dr. Vikani also holds a general contractor’s license, which enabled her to lead the construction and design of Nirvana Dispensary. Her expertise combines two seemingly different fields: pharmaceutical science and architectural design. This combination resulted in a dispensary that prioritizes both functionality and esthetics.

The store was designed to be welcoming and inclusive, with a focus on lighting, materials, and curated art to create a warm, serene atmosphere.
